Or Hat Tray, if you prefer. Pulled the seats out of my '65 Valiant yesterday and also pulled the package shelf out for replacement. The new shelf I have is a Poster Board-ish material. What came out of there was a Poster Board material shelf that had carpet glued to it and another chunk (actually three chunks due to deterioration) that appears to made of a material like masonite that I am assuming was original. Is that materail available or do i need to run over to home depot and break out the Jig saw?
Also, the Poster Board material has a couple of holes in it that line up with holes in the sheet metal of the Shelf. Figure these are for some sort of plastic clip for holding the Shelf in place but want to make sure.
Thanks.........
Bob

I would get a sheet of ABS material and get away from the old fiber board. ABS is moisture resistant and dosen't worp. Save old tray for pattern. Same with door panels.

ABS? Plastic? Old tray pretty much fell apart and maybe 2/3 was all that was left.

ABS plastic sheets. You might try local rod shop. Most restoration shops are going to this insted of the old cardboard, unless thats what you want ,also try ebay. As far as old tray you can probably tape it together enough to get an idea lay it on a piece of construction paper and make a pattern cut the new try alittle larger then needed, then cut to fit.

Thanks for the tip. The old tray turned to dust....literally.

The attachment "Buttons" were metal back then.Maybe someone has some used to sell.

You can still make it yourself. Construction paper is cheap or cardboard. take some ruff dimention measurments. Draw the approximent shape cut and draw until it fits
