My 73 duster is obviously Mist green F1 but the paint code on the fender tag says JY9? Is this another one of those ma Mopar things?

Maybe. My Valiant is Tahitian gold and the interior is golden haze which is much lighter but it shows that on the tag. My guess is they screwed it up at the plant. Someone might have decided to do an early re-paint but that is unlikely because the dash is green and in my opinion I don't think JY9 goes well with a green interior.
We would have to see your fender tag. Is the vin on the tag the same as your title?

Looks like it was painted. and the fender tag was red at one time. A coat of many colors. Y9 is the color of your lower dash and pad color.

Some crackhead got stupid before I bought it and was spray painting some red here in there. Definitely right there by the fender tag that got tagged LOL yeah that red was just some rattle can crap. The black was me. The green is unquestionably a stock color and not matching anything that tag says as far as color goes.
