Stripped down my simple 1BBL air cleaner. Going to paint it black of course. I was just going to go to NAPA and find something. Anything to avoid? Any suggestions? It seems Chrysler just used some kind of semi-gloss black. Thanks

I have not had a problem with any of the rattle can paints. The problem starts with poor prep. I like to start with sand blasted/glass beaded metal clean as a whistle.
After each pass with the paint can, I like to sun bake it dry. Very dry.

This may take a while to do, but the results are Stella. Taking a lot of time to paint an item will draw giggles from my friends and such, but, later down the line, there quicker methods show signs of issues that have cropped up.

Just do what I did for the best result. Take your time in painting the super clean grease/oil free part. Use rubber gloves to handle it. Bake it in the sun until it is really really dry. The. Apply the next coat.
