parking rod help

I cant seem to get the parking rod correct. when i install the valve body the parking rod is preventing the gear selector from moving either direction. I've tried to pull out parking rod by pulling on it and moving drive shaft back and forth with NO luck. looking at a pic of how rod should be sitting in tranny it looks like it might be stuck too low and to the left. this is all from putting a shift improver in it is why it was apart.

Only advice I can give you is go to some of the websites like Cheetah or Transgo and download some of their valve body destructions.

I've ran into a couple of stubborn ones and what I do is with the valve body removed stick my finger in the hole where the parking rod goes in and turn the driveshaft until I feel it open up. Then the rod should slip right in.

i've tried a long flat-head with no luck to help. the position of the parking rod is wrong and wont engage park or allow shifter to move its so bound up
