This weekend there were two car shows in the Parksville / Coombs area. The first one was in Coombs at the elementary school. I had never attended this show before, but someone convinced me to come check it out, so I entered the Fargo. I always figured maybe 15 cars showed up. More like 100 cars showed up! Holy crap, the show was loaded. So the first batch of pictures are for the Coombs show, then the next batch is for the Parksville show.

This guy had fit a 2.0L Mazda engine in this Austin, and made his own headers for it.

An old couple owned this Pontiac, I believe they were the original owners. They said everything was original except paint. Even the clock still worked.

This was a Standard VanGaurd. It had the neat little turn signals which pop out from the doors like wings with little lights, and the switch where the horn button is.

I met John this weekend at the show, I believe his username is darts4me. He brought this 67 Dart GT 340, sounded great.

And Wayne (not sure of his username) brought this 69 Dart, 340 with a 4 link out back.

Saturday night after the Coombs show, there was a car cruise that went from Parksville A&W all through town, down through the beach drive, through the neighborhoods, etc. Really was only going to take the Fargo through that, but ended up entering in both shows.
Then Sunday was the big car show down at Parksville Beach. Pretty good turnout with some neat cars. I actually won Best Orphan for the Fargo, which apparently was, since they don't make Fargo anymore, it is an orphan. So, out of all the cars and trucks there they don't make anymore, they picked 1 to be Best Orphan. Butttt I went to get my plaque or whatever, and they told me they lost mine, hahah. So perhaps they will mail it to me.

This 69 GTS was all original, except for a repaint which the owners did themselves. It had the original bill of sale on the windshield, ordered new in Vancouver BC.

Thanks again for treating us to all the pics, that's a lot of really nice cars. Good photography too.

Thanks for posting.
That ZL/1 Camaro is worth some major dollars.......if it's a real one.
Some nice rides in there.

I guess you must have slept in, I was leaving when the little Austin pickup was coming in so I missed ya.

I can't believe you've never been to the Coombes show, this was my 13th straight year, only missed the 1st one. Great little show, here's a couple extra pics, the GMC COE pics are actually from the Alberni show but it was here as well, an amazing build :-D

This matching pair of trucks were very unique

I'll have to post the COE pics later, my photobucket account seems to have thrown up on itself :munky2:

thanks Mike your pics make it easier to miss all these up Island shows this year , my boss took his 442 to parksville but didnt enter it this year ,said attendance was down quite a bit but I see Lou made it with his yellow hemi monster and it looks like several of wille wankers cars made it as well , who owns that pale bronze first gen barracuda -pretty sweet looking

Rob, I believe I saw you sitting on the bench outside the Coombs Market when I was heading to the show.

Cannucky, the first gen Barracuda has been to a few of the shows lately, as well as last year. I'm pretty sure an older gentleman owns it.

Yup that was me, I went to the show and the wife went shopping so I was just waiting for her.

Here's that COE I was talking about, all hand formed from the cab back, amazing wood work, it's on a motor home chassis with a Cummins :-D
