I'm curious as to what most of you are using for parts cleaning solution. I need to do some light duty cleaning.

I may install it in my parts cleaner, but I am not sure at this point.

Generally smaller stuff like wheel bearings, etc.

What are the chemicals that you use?

Thanks, ROB

I use mineral spirits or turpentine it is one of the safest, still works good and is one of the cheapest.

OK. That sounds good. Some rubber gloves and good to go.

I think there is some type of "simple green" type of compound that some use.

I'm not sure though.

Yep I use the same in my solvent tank. Mieral spirts, add a little tranny fluid to it and it is not as hard on the skin.
:)

You can buy five gallon buckets or smaller at northern tool and equipment.

I get my parts cleaner from there.

Simple green is usually used with the smaller parts washers that you are not supposed to use flammable solutions through the pump.

Simple green is okay, but it does not works as fast or as good as the other stuff.

OK so mineral spirits it is.

Sounds like a plan and not nearly as explosive. I don't smoke or anything so no worries there.

Thanks for the help guys, ROB

I bought mine at the local tractor supply store. Came in 5 gallon buckets. Maybe the same stuff Cudaspaz mentioned Northern has, don't know. Cost around $22 per 5 gallons IIRC. I never looked to see what's in it but it works real good but is sure hard on the hands if you don't wear gloves.
