Passon A body aluminum 833

-
Yeah if it doesn't work, makes noises and is a total POS shifting through the gears, it's probably a Passon.

How about telling me the difference when they are both on the floor.
What is the front bearing retainer size? or O.D.?
I am assuming this is for an A body?

What is the size of the output shaft? 904 splines or 727 size?

Move the tread and take me with it.

You posted this in the wrong place,

Start by measuring across the largest part of the bearing retainer on the front of the tranny. The bearing retainer is right behind the Clutch and the part the throw-out bearing rides on. Lets see some pictures.

I do know what a bearing retainer is, I don't know how to move thread. Pics tomorrow. Just trying to figure out what I have before posting for sale on FABO.

You might post a picture of what you have, and we could take a gander.

I am no expert, but i was unaware of passon having a 4 sp aluminum trans.

Passon made his own Aluminum main housings and tail shaft housings. The ones I have, have his logo on the castings. They came small and large front bearing. If it looks like a standard housing, vin pad and all, it is probably an O/D unit with a large front bearing and a 5 1/8 OD front bearing retainer.

Im guessing A body OD unit. Usually one knows when one has $3500 in trans vs $500 in trans......but....ya never know!

And if he has a set of main caps and who he sells them to?
