Passon Performance 4spd conversion with hydraulic clutch- Any guess about which hydraulic fluid?

I bought this setup back in 2022 and I never received the correct BOM for what I bought (it showed the parts listing and prices for the mechanical clutch parts) despite numerous calls and emails requesting the document with the correct parts. Now I need to refill/bleed the hydraulics and I'm stumped. The web site doesn't seem to have any information about the hydraulic system either. Go figure.

As we all know, DOT3 and DOT4 are not compatible and it could be either one in the system. I don't exactly know how thoroughly cleaned-out the system needs to be to avoid risk of a chemical reaction and I'd rather not have to worry about it.

What would you do? Is there a reasonable way to test the fluid to know what's in there? Is the incompatibility that big of a deal?

DOT3 and DOT4 are not compatible

Yes they are. Dot 4 just has a higher boil temp.

Dot 5 is silicone based......and is purple.

Since it’s the clutch, there really is not much fluid in the system. Flush out the system with what you want to use a few times and label the cap with what fluid is used.

Not true. As stated, they are 3 and 4 compatible and can be mixed.
It would make most sense to use the same fluid as you are using in your braking system.

Put a little fluid on something that's spray painted. If it eats the paint, then fill her up with Dot 3 or 4.
