what carb do you run? How thick is your air filter and do you have a drop base air cleaner?
Thanks
I use a K&N 14" x 4" filter, the air pan is fiberglass and sits almost level with the top of a Quick Fuel carb.

Where di you get the foam you used for the seal and how thick is that aluminum?
From the above referenced HOT ROD Magazine article:
#1 EDELBROCK PERFORMER RPM 383
#2HOLLEY STREET DOMINATOR
#3CLASSIC EDELBROCK DP4B
there
is so little difference it is of almost no consequence.

Only in the upper 4,500-6,000 range does the RPM enjoy a small measurable advantage:
EDELBROCK PERFORMER 383
Average 4,500-6,000: 415 lb-ft, 413 hp
EDELBROCK PERFORMER RPM 383
Average 4,500-6,000: 428 lb-ft, 426 hp
CLASSIC EDELBROCK DP4B
Average 4,500-6,000: 419 lb-ft, 417 hp
.
My 440 on the dyno with Edelbrock Performer RPM made it highest torque 535FT LBS at 4200 RPMs and dropped down to 432 FT LBS at 6000 RPMs My highest HP was at 5600 RPMs of 500.1. Now that also dependes on how your motor is built, cam, compression, ect.. Remember this is a dual plane raised intake not a single plane. It runs great on the street and strip. Just a little info on the Edelbrock RPM on my experience with it.
I had a DP4B on my 383 RR back in the day and it was killer. Best change
I ever made to the car (Sig Erson 284-484, Doug's headers, Mallory dist).
You can find them on eBay but used ones in good condition usually cost as
much or more than a new Performer or Performer RPM and rightfully so.
I don't know why they didn't just reissue them in place of the regular Performer
(or would they just be too close to the Performer RPM in performance?).
That said and hood clearance permitting, I'll probably get a Performer RPM for
my 400/470 build.
The 'old' Edelbrock Dual-Plane
The Way To Go.
The best performing street intake, with 'no' clearance problems.
They are available on E-Bay.
I bought one for $85.00
i already got a performer rpm on my 400 B so if it dont fit i'm gonna use a shoehorn or get a 1 FOOT drop base or sawzall or whatever it takes lol
Lots of people have said the regular Performer is a door stop for some reason, yet they praise
the street dominator but the Performer's numbers look better than the Dominators. If im gonna
go through the trouble of changing the intake, i want the best i can get that will fit in there.
Man! That's a great deal! I would like to find a nice unsullied one for my 400/470 project. The 'old' Edelbrock Dual-Plane

determined by multiplying the diameter of the filter times Pi (3.1416) times the height of the air filter in inches, then subtracting .75-inch. We subtract .75-inch to compensate for the rubber seals on each end of the element and the filter material near them since very little air flows through this area.
