Does anyone know if if the improvements in the ignitor 2 make it really worth all the extra $$$?

I do know that you have to use the right ohm coil for it to work right. They come in 1.5 3.0 and .6 ohms . I don't remember which to use.Pertronix #1 you can use the stock coil. I have used both the #1 & #2 and other than the coil issue see no difference in performance. Check their web site for more info.

Looked on Jegs web and it said it takes the .6 ohm coil for the pertronix #II

Not the expert, but I understand the original Ignitor is similar to the Mopar box, i.e. it requires a ballast resistor (or coil w/ internal resistance). The Ignitor II is similar to the GM HEI module and requires no ballast. I recall it can trigger a better E-core coil like Holley or a Mopar Magnum coil. I recall that Ignitor III adds MSD.
