74 duster
I am from NC and joined this forum several years ago to learn what I could, Meet come cool people and find all the information I could pertaining to restoring my 1974 Plymouth Duster, and maybe impart any of the knowledge I might gain in the process. Unfortunately, due to a lack of funds, or a place to work on my poor car, it has sit in the woods at my in laws with only minimal attention since 2007. But oh how the tables have turned, Tomorrow morning I will be bringing her home and begin the tear down. Now a little history lesson, My parents bought the Duster for me when I was 16 back in 1997 for 500 dollars, 225 slant 6, automatic, yellow inside and out, and as base model as it comes, I even had the original window sticker that has NO RADIO stamped on it. I drove it all through high school and me and my sister painted it with every can of spray paint I could find and It did not matter if the colors were the same, even drew on it with paint markers. I stopped driving it when it began to nickel and dime me to death, I believe that the last inspection sticker said 2001 on it. I always wanted to be able to restore it, and kinda started a couple times before I ran out of money. now the only issue is going to be time and knowledge, I do NOT plan on doing an engine swap, I love the old 225 but do plan to five it some teeth. This is going to be a learning experience, and I am looking forward to it. I will be the first to admit that I only have about half an idea of what I am doing, but it will be fun. I will post some pictures as soon as I get a chance, and will be starting a build thread soon. wish me luck and let the fun begin.
