What is the part number and where can I find the pinion bearing race install tool. I have searched and found various part numbers but don't know which is correct. The only thing I am fairly sure of is that I need a 54mm and a 57mm race punch. I came across many miller bearing tool set part numbers but I can't seem to verify the correct one. This is for a 8 3/4" with a 489 case. I'm replacing the gears and will replace the bearings while in there.

Thanks

Any generic bearing race driver set should have a disc in it that works. I have a set from Matco and a set from Harbor Freight, have used both on many 8 3/4 pinion bearing races. Sometimes they are not 100% perfect to size, but the discs are made of aluminum and will not mar or gall the race.

Pound them out with a punch and install with one of these if you care to buy. Harbor Freight. $40

Recommending Harbor Freight tools? Who are you and what have you done with the real toolmanmike?
  I sold similar for decades before Harbor freight came to town. Very few respect or can afford quality tools and if it's a home shop thing, this HF set will work fine. You get it.

The big seal and race sets are $$ and way less common nowadays. My neighbor has a lathe, he made me some custom ones after I gave him some old races for sizing up.
