Can some one give me an idea of how far my pinion snubber should be from the floor on my car.

I assume it needs to be meausred at ride height...

Car has an 8 3/4 in it...

Tx.

I had mine set at 1/2 inch,I also welded a piece of metal to the floor area to take the brunt.Good luck

I,m running a Dana with Caltracs now,so no snubber.

Thanks a lot. I have one at my Dads shop I'm gonna grab and put on.

I always thought I had the snubber installed but I guess somewhere along the line I took it off that case.... Not sure, its been a while since I raced the car up to the past fall I guess I never really thought about it until the other night when I was pulling my driveshaft out. I do have the front leafs clamped but that's its.

1.86 60' with 3.55's... I think that's respectable.

There's no hard and fast rule here. Every single car is different. Some like 1/2" gap, some like preload. Best thing to do is mess around with different settings and see what works best.

If I don't have an adjustable snubber could I install spacer between the snubber mount plate and the housing?? Can see why not if there's enough clearance everywhere...

If you have a welder and a rubber traction bar snubber.. or upper A arm snubber... you could make any height you need. I think the rule used to be 1 inch on automatic cars and 1/2 on stick shifts since the manual trans already "shocks" the tires harder anyway. Like previously stated.. it all depends on the traction available.. the type of tires or slicks you have...

Have fun experimenting.
