Is there an easy way to remove the pitman arm without the special tool? Ive been working on this thing since 11 this morning and its making me mad.:banghead: Thanks

you can rent the tool from your local parts store for like 25 -30 bucks.
 
BUY THE TOOL.

There is not other way to remove the pitman arm that won't cause damage to the either arm, or the steering box. I bought the Harbor Freight one twenty years ago. I use is about once every couple of years and it has held up great.

You need a pitman arm puller, Advance auto and others will loan you the tool for free. You need the big one, comes off really easy with it and no broken parts or skinned knuckles.

You pay full price for the tool when they give it to you, return it any time for full refund, it is a tool loaner program and is free!!!

I have used two jaw pullers in the past but the dedicated tool works great, just borrowed one from Advance last year.

Stop what you are doing and go get it.
