These might be the right size. Corvette Rivet Intake Manifold Under Pan 5 Pieces 55 81 ( #E23412 ) | Corvette PacificaI purchased a 4 bbl intake for my 318. I cleaned it and then I took the plate off the bottom to clean behind it.
Unfortunately, the special screws that holds it on got misplaced/lost and I can’t find them. Do they sell these screws?
Does anyone have any for sale?
Thanks in advance
John
If the aftermarket put heat shields on the bottom of aluminum intakes, I'd buy that, but they don't, so I don't think it makes a lot of difference. Other than a place to create sludge buildup.Keeping the hot oil from the lifter valley from splashing on the bottom of the intake helps keep the air/fuel charge cooler, kind of like a big block or an air-gap manifold. Any little bit helps, IMO.
Maybe so.Accepting something the aftermarket companies do without an explanation doesn't make it a positive.
The OP posted all his contact information again which I deleted (again) You can send him a PM. Apparently he doesn't know how.Edit your post to remove your personal info and start a conversation. I'll dig them out. I had to buy a bag full for my two that I needed.
can someone tell me how to post my contact information without stepping on anyone’s toes
Thanks
Yes, through a private message. If this were a Parts Wanted thread like it should be, there would be a link directly to your inbox on your first post.can someone tell me how to post my contact information without stepping on anyone’s toes

I'm 73 and understand....but man, you've been here since 2019!Gee fellows a person has to learn, I’m 78 years old, I don’t learn very fast like I used to, I’m just trying to servive.

Well, I think we all know WHY it was put there and in a stock world, sure it works. But for a performance build where the temperature is well regulated and kept lower than stock and again with the exhaust crossover blocked as in real performance applications, there's no need for it. The aluminum intake manufactures knew this. That's why there's not a single aftermarket aluminum intake made with one, to my knowledge.Keeping the hot oil from the lifter valley from splashing on the bottom of the intake helps keep the air/fuel charge cooler, kind of like a big block or an air-gap manifold. Any little bit helps, IMO.
