Play in input shaft?

Was wondering if the input shaft on an A833 tranny was supposed to have any play...if it does how much? If it's not, what would cause it?

Bump. Can anyone help me out? I plan on putting the transmission in sometime this week!

It will have a little play. The pilot will keep it concentric. inspect T.O. bearing retainer for cracks. have fun:thumbup:

A little up and down is normal as long as it doesn't hit the bearing retainer (or even come close to doing so). If there is play in and out, that means new bearing time.
