I've never driven my 66 Dart. But many of you have had many problems with filling up at the pump and with gas sloshing out during cornering. There may be an answer for both of these issues out there, but if there is I can't find it.

I personally think it comes down to the filler tube angle being too shallow. Anyway I look forward to driving my Dart one day and will try to address these problems before I do. My filler neck is corroded, so it needs work anyway. I noticed this product the other day:

http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/p...ct_id=470/category_id=60/mode=prod/prd470.htm

So if this box is used with a new custom filler tube with a sharp angle, could this maybe solve the sloshing out issue, and the fill up click off/overflow issue?

Get the right fitting cap, gas wont slosh out. My 66 does not have that problem . I use a gas cap made and sold from a FABO member.

That will fix the fuel slosh when cornering but not the backsplash out of the neck when filling the tank. There are a few threads on that subject. Use the search function to find them. Laysons has a modified filler neck that is supposed to cure both ailments. I believe Slant six Dan also has done some work on that subject.

funny I dont have a problem filing my '66. I just turn the nozzle over, with the hose facing up. It works fine in CA at least.

I just got gas in my 66 Barracuda today. For the FIRST time EVER I didn't have any problems. Not sure why.

In the past I would put the handle at the 10 o'clock position and hope and pray...move it around, and nothing helped.

Today, I got to 9 gallon in no time. I was concerned the pump was bad, but when I got back in and turned on the key the gauge went to 7/8 of a full tank. Which is also odd cause since I replaced the internal voltage regulator the gauge hasn't registered more than 5/8.

The only thing different is that I am now using non-ethanol fuel.

Weird...but I'll take it!!!!!!!!!

I've done that but I usually end up with threads complaining about Laysons. Plus when I go to Laysons website I can't find any reference to a filler neck, just the seals and grommets, so maybe they don't sell them anymore?
