A while back I purchased a used Edelbrock Torker 340 and swapped it in from a factory 4 barrel spread bore manifold on my 360. I used an adapter and with the same TQ carb the idle speed had immediately increased a solid 500rpm. I got the idle back down to about 800rpm with 24° initial timing(484 lift 280/280 cam and factory pistons). 13.5afr roughly. All aiming for highest idle vacuum. Idle was pretty solid, but as the motor surpassed normal operating temps(above 195) the idle rpm increased to around 12-1300, and wideband showed it to be leaning out. Swapped to a 4150 650 Holley with no change. I’ve used some thicker intake manifold gaskets just in case the leak was in that region, but no change. I can’t see any visible cracks, but have to wonder if I’m missing something. Im considering coating the entire manifold interior with some type of sealing epoxy….or am I missing something?

I have a decent amount of time into this manifold converting it to MPFI so I’d prefer to troubleshoot than just purchase another.

are you using the new fuel with 15% achol. could be fuel. switch to 100% gas and try

Did you try spraying small amounts of carb cleaner around the intake ports and gaskets while running.
(Careful not to let the carb suck it up).
Idle changes will show you if, and where a leak may be.

Have you read the spark plugs?
