im thinking of swapping my 70 duster out to power brakes. ive already done the 11.75 front rotor swap with slider calipers, and 11X3 rear drums. it stops pretty well, just requires a bunch of pedal pressure. my knees arent getting any better, and its just not that fun to drive the manuals.

couple of questions.
1. how much vaccum do i need to properly run the system?
2. what year model boosters are the best?
3. will my current master cyl work?
4. do i need to locate a differnt brake pedal assembly for power due to stroke differences?
5. will my 2 year ols stainless lines be reusable?
6. any parts i cant think of needed?

thanks for any help you can gove me.

good questions, I want to swap to power too. Gonna check NAPA for a booster/ms combo soon...

1. not sure about a specific amount of vaccum required to run a booster but as long as you dont have a real lopey cam you should be ok.
2. Dont know.
3. Maybe, depends on the size you have already, its usually cast into the end of the master cyl but sometimes it isnt. Power brakes use a larger bore master cyl which if used in a manual application would cause extra pedal effort (you might have a master cyl with the large bore).
4. pedals are the same.
5.The lines from the master cyl will be too short.
6. You will need the mounting bracket for the booster to the firewall and a different pedal pushrod.
I would check the bore size on the master cyl, it could be for power brakes, swapping to a smaller bore master cyl would give less pedal effort.
