Is there a difference between a 69 Dart and a 74 Duster power steering gear box?

The Napa part numbers are different but there are not specs. I would imagine the gear box itself is the same, but not quite sure.

Thanks,

Ran across this post while filing info. I noted from others:

Power Steering Gear PN’s
88277066 Small diameter sector shaft – thru 72 A,B,E body (1-1/16"D?).
88277093 Large diameter sector shaft (1.25”D?) – all C body, 73+ all others

The later are more available at rebuilders (lower core charge). My '65 C body uses it. I have a spare early one for my '65 A body.

Currently rebuilding the gear in my '65 Dart w/ an Edelman kit. Am taking careful photos since many ways to re-assemble wrong, even with the drawings. I tried long ago on a '69 Dart, couldn't get it to work right and finally bought a rebuilt box. If anybody has upgrade hints like adding shims to take out play, now is the time to offer.

More info from recent work on my pwr steering (started new thread). Not sure the PN's I gave above would help since don't see such anywhere on the gearboxes I have.

Gearbox on my '65 Dart. May not be original since the outer locknut on the input shaft has multi-slots vs the 2 slots shown in the FSM photos.
Casting PN "G-2267262"
Other casting labels "R2" and plate "3208" (cast date code?)
Alum cylinder head "KCP 7823153 695"
Ouput Shaft 1.125"D (1-1/8"D) @ seal, measures 1.115"D @ top of Pitmann splines (all you could measure when installed).
Rebuild Kit - Edelmann 7895 "Seal Kit" (no bearings)
This gearbox should fit 63-72 A,B,E bodies

Gearbox from 1974 Dart Slant Six:
Casting PN "Q-3643012" and "R" (note: "Q" could be an "O", "C", or such, sand castings hard to read).
1.250"D shaft
Rebuild Kit - Edelmann 8513 "seal kit" (no bearings) or 8538 full kit w/ 2 needle bearing for output shaft.
This gearbox should fit all Mopars 73+ and C-bodies all years (63+?).

If readers wonder why I have the later gearbox, I bought it w/ a Federal pump and hoses. I have a '65 Newport it will fit. I also have a spare "small Pitmann" gearbox from a '68 B-body (recall), so set for life on gearboxes.
