Thanks for the info....i just changed the belts and and the fluid but it turns easy and smooth.....but it might be 41 year s old and time to go...thanks

Go to the parts store & buy a can of something that says "MIRACLE" on the side, pour it into the pump, and then.........[-o<

Doesnt a whinning sound mean it low on fluid? I just fixed my leaking pump with Lucas power steering stop leak. Costs about $10 and well worth every penny in my book.Go remove some fluid and add a pint of this stuf. Turn the wheel back and forth 7 or 8 times lock to lock and give it some time to work.

About a half hour or so of run time did it for me. I will always highly recommend that product to anyone. It has saved me on 2 cars now so far.Good luck with it .

Try turning your wheels lock to lock about 5-10 times to help purge, possible air in system. If still making noise, try some Lucas powersteering stopleak, It did`nt quite cure my leak, yet, but it sure stopped the annoying squeal when turning wheel to lock. Worth a try before buying a new expensive pump!:happy3:
