Does anyone know where the wire for the console cigar/cigarette lighter originates from ? Can’t find it on my wiring diagram. Thanks

It plugs into the cigarette lighter wire by the dash ashtray. Then has a short lead to the dash lighter and a long lead that goes across the dash and down the pass. side kick panel. Then follows the wires for the shifter light on a auto car and with the reverse lights on pre 70 cars. Sometimes the lead doubles up with the map light harness and there are three connections.

I had a 71 Duster 340 I bought new, and although it had an ashtray cigarette lighter, it just had a hole in the console for a lighter but didn't come with one.

If I recall the console harness may or may not include that wire. It tapped into or went inbetween the dash lighter wire and that well.
Now, I won't talk what a coin in that console lighter well can do to the cars wiring. I give you 3 guesses LOL.

Both our 67 and 69 are console cars and both had chrome "buttons" in the ashtray. There was no lighter socket.
So did the 69 console harness still include reverse lamp wiring?
The console harness for manual trans wouldn't have those or the orange illumination wire. I have to wonder if they ever powered the lighter in those builds. I would lay my quarter on blank plug in all of those builds. No power at all in console.

This?

Sort of. It varies a lot with the various model years and builds.
Some want to use that well for a thingy with USB for phone charging. I have a comment for that too.
Our 1st brand new ride was 04 RAV4. I would sooner change a dirty diaper than motor oil. Toyota of Easley took care of it. Wife says something quit working. Interior lights? I forget.
When the maint' light came on I reminded her, "ask them about _____." The tech brought here a little pink thingy she had poked in the lighter well.
" I'll throw this POS away for you. No extra charge. You bought it at convenience store, right? Next,,, "You got what you paid for. They are not radio shack." She never bought another.
