Thanks all, so update is that she suffered a severely broken leg. Both bones from knee to ankle. Has had surgery but has to wait a few days for swelling to go down for more.
Ironic in that both her son Dave and I had seprate motorcycle accidents 30 years ago. I broke my foot and Dave had a steel rod similar to hers running below knee to ankle. Hers runs from above knee, so cant bend knee. Not for a long time anyway.
Bud tells me the reason for the airlift was that no surgeon available.
Although its "only" a broken leg and its early yet, this is a life changing moment as they are lifelong farmers. Small scale, but independent. No spring chickens either in their 70's.
