Pre-74 LA max thrust diameter of [ 3.374 ]
74 & on LA max thrust diameter of [ 3.530 ]

Ok , I'm working on a 1968 [318] with std size main bearings and want a good Fully grooved bearing for a manual trans equipped vehicle !!!!

I'm thinking any [340] fully grooved bearing will fit perfectly because 340 production ceased before 1974 ?

I'm looking at this bearing what are your thoughts etc ?

Pre 74 means nothing regards to bearings on a 318. Same parts from the mid 60s til they made the last magnum in 2003.

10-4
Much Appreciated
Only thing that changed on a 318 short block starting in 74 was they went to press fit wrist pins instead of bushed and full floating within the piston.

U right oh and this also !

Weird I have worked on too many 318s over the years of all model years to try and remember them all . I have mixed and matched parts between many.
I have NEVER heard a bit of this before. Where did you get your info from??

From a member and even though its 2021 the part numbers are inaccurate from Summit
To jegs and beyond but a Little hint if u look at pre 90s
Speed pro catalogs it lists a part number for 67-73
Then 74 to current so must be a small change at least

May not be an issue but if I can get correct ones I certainly want to
This is another comment a member have me .
I have early and late 318s so all this info is in my MOPAR bible now.
