Who is preferred for a full exhaust system for a 69 Dart Swinger? I see many out there but want to know who you have used and your experiences. Who does good work? Who is closest to factory correct? I was referred to Don's custom exhaust in Ohio by a few on here and that has been nothing short of a nightmare, so I need a new option.

I used Accurate on my 70 Duster a few years ago and it installed flawlessly, they are pricey though and the shipping was expensive.
Im interested in the nightmare with Dons because i recently ordered and received a full kit from them, the hangers and tips were on back order and i havent been able to get in touch with them to see if the hangers and tips are back in stock, hope he is ok, seemed like a good guy...Rich

I would look at Accurate and TTI for good exhaust systems. I don't recall if either offers the smaller stock pipes. Look at their websites.

Please explain the "nightmare" to us. What were the problems you encountered?

I put an Accurate 340-style dual system in a '69 Barracuda and it went together perfectly. I had them include a passenger-side floor hanger bracket, so I got every part I needed in one box. No trips to the parts store for some little this or that.

I wouldn’t put an exhaust kit from Accurate on if it was free. In fact the car I bought had one and it was one of the first things to go. A small restrictive exhaust with crush bends is not my cup of tea. Go TTI for fitment, sound, and a small upgrade in power.

Two different worlds here. You want factory look and size and possibly to use manifolds go Accurate or NOS. You want performance, larger tube size to meet you power needs go TTI, Heartthrob, Summit or Jegs (Basically Heartthrob). Flowmaster makes an exhaust but I'd sell those mufflers to a guy with a jacked up Chevy and mullet. TTI makes a system to fit manifolds.

I made my own from parts for a Summit kit, Pipes universal X-Pipe, Dynomax offset pipes for a Tahoe and Borla mufflers.

don's does the lil red express truck repop exhaust and it looks good...

i've used TTI and it fits awesome but it only looks stock if you don't know any better but its not "stock"

these hguys are probably the best bet if you want it to look closest to stock. not cheap though.. 1967-74 A Body Exhaust Systems (Small Block)-

but if he wants factory "correct" then accurate may be his best bet.

I've got a set of Doug's headers and a summit exhaust with H-pipe. Don't listen to those X-pipe heretics.

I want to get a set of electric cutouts because I know the entire neighborhood wants to hear my Barracuda.

I just looked on Accurate web site, i cant believe how much the pricing has gone up since i bought their system several years ago....

I have a set of each on different cars:
Accurate: factory correct, so bent with crimps, went on without any issues, been on for 15+ years, sounds fantastic. Looks like a giant price increase since I purchased years ago.
Waldron: factory correct, so bent with crimps, have yet to install, adding all of the clamps/hangers/gaskets adds up fast, call to make sure you have selected everything correctly.
TTI: factory looking, comes with everything, need to trim pipes from collectors to mufflers to length ('62 you need to fab your own collectors from pieces they provide).

All 3, buy direct, call them first.
I had an issue with TTI and they were amazing with their response.
Both Accurate and Waldron were great on the phone.

I spoke with some folks in the industry in his area and after some research, it appears he has not been answering his phone for good reason which I will not divulge here, as it isn't my business and I don't think he will be answering his phone for a while. The companies he makes exhaust parts for are quite upset as well and this will cause some delays and shortages for sure. All in all, I can say this, I have learned a lot and made some new acquaintances and if anyone needs exhaust call Rick (he's the owner) at Classic Exhaust Systems in Madison, Ohio. You won't regret that decision, like I have in dealing with Don's.
