Alright so I recently replaced my broken 225 S/6 from my 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger with another 225 S/6 from a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda. Unfortunatly upon giving away my old engine and trying to fit my belts onto the overhauled engine I found out (finally) that the crankshaft pulley only has 1 groove and the original engine had 2. My question is this. Would it be alright to just replace the water pump pulley with a double grooved pulley? and if so do you know where I could find a compatible one and possible belt? Thanks for taking the time to help me with this slight headache!
 
The crank/balancer has an add on pulley for PS cars and a dual groove water pump pulley. I may have what you need and will do some digging tomorrow

Not quite. The crank damper has a single groove. It is the same part on both engines. Your original engine had a bolt-on pulley, either an inner pulley for AC or an outer pulley for the power steering pump. Going forward, it depends on which of those you will use. Adding the AC pulley is a bear since must remove the crank damper, after removing the radiator for room for the tool. Smart time to change the timing cover crank seal. Adding a p.s. pulley is trivial, just 3 bolts. The tapped holes in the damper for each pulley are different sizes, as I recall, so clock the pulley appropriately.

Nothing is confirmed yet. Your answer assumed the 2nd groove was for the p.s. pump. It could have been an AC car w/ manual steering, which would be a quite different pulley.
Not sure why any of that matters now. What matters is what accessories the OP will be running, and he/she wasn't clear what the issue is.
 
No,I said the add on pulley was for the crank and it also requires a dual groove water pump pulley (if I remember right). He didn't mention his was a/c so I "assumed" he wasn't looking for an a/c set.

To the Op,I will get down to my storage in the next few days,with turkey day and all I didn't get a chance to get there yet.
 
Oh man sorry for not specifying. I'm just looking to run the PS, the car never had an AC (as much as I would love that) My question was how I should/could route the belts and were I could get a pulley for the engine (I'm running on a budget)
 

Interesting side note: For whatever reason the original belt (I tried to fit a new belt first) that ran the water pump and alt and they do not appear to be the right size. Any ideas as to why that would be?

If you are fitting them to the single groove water pump pulley, it may be a different diameter than the dual groove pulley. I know that with small-blocks the AC and non-AC w.p. pulleys are different diameters, presumably why the water pumps for each have 6 vs 8 blades.
 
I put a new WP/ALT belt on my 64 225. It was 5 bucks from O'reillys. It took me 2 tries to get the length I needed. I have the part number at home if you're interested.
