I plan on getting a 509 purple cam and am wondering if anyone knows the difference between part number P5007698AE and P5007698. As far as I can tell they are exactly the same but the latter is significantly less expensive. If anyone knows the difference I'd appreciate any info before I buy one of them.

Not sure but AE usually is 3 bolt were others are 1 bolt.

I know that the P5007698 is single bolt. I can't find anything saying if P5007698AE is 3 or one though. Since the timing chain I bought is single bolt though looks like i'll just get the cheaper cam.

I run the early 108 version and advanced 4 degrees in my 383. You will get lots of opinions about this cam! With at least 3.91 or higher gears and a decent convertor it is fine! Stick cars like it better!

I have had it since 86 but with 4.56 gears with a 9" convertor. Got my car in mid 7's on the 1/8 with cast iron and full exhaust with pro-trac street tires.

Now that I have 3.55 gears I would like to downgrade it to the 284 or a more modern grind.

Pretty spot on. I had the .509 and eventually swapped it to the MPP 284/.528 cam and was MUCH happier, so was the car. But the .509 cam worked and sounded decent. The 284 solid cam just outperformed it all the way around and is more street friendly.

I've ordered to 108 degree .509. From what I've read it would work pretty well with my set up.

Mine may be only 2 degrees advanced as is it hard to remember, just check the valve clearence before firing!

Happy Moparing!!

509 in my 69 with repro Accurate factory exhaust. 30 years after!!!

The 108 509 will work really well advanced down around 100.
