I recently purchased new Mopar Performance black aluminum valve covers. How do you cut them to put in grommets for breather and pcv valve? Thanks for any help, Rick

They're already cast to break out the parts covering the holes. You can just hit em with a ball peen hammer and then clean up the edges with a file.

Just knocked out mine on some M/T covers, used a socket with extension.Gave it a good tap and they popped out,pre-cut.

That sounds good too, do you hit from the outside down or inside out? Thanks again for the help, Rick

Ehhhh, it's been a couple of years since I did mine, but I think I whacked em from the outside, just get a good feel for where the center of the hole is and aim for that.

If you lay them on their back on a flat table and use a punch from inside you run less risk of cracking them because the flange is supported.
