Question about drive shafts.

Hi all, My Cousin has a 1972 318 Demon. Installing a fresh 340. Can he use a 4 spd driveshaft from a 340 car? will it be the same length to hook up to his 904? I have been told in the past the drive shafts are the same length. Thanks in advance!

The yoke should be different. 4 speeds and 904 take a different yoke.

Shaft length should be REALLY close if it's from a 4 speed duster/demon. Should be about 48" c to c.

I would just get a new one made. You might want to make sure your using the larger u-joints 7290 with the 340 also.
