I had posted this message a couple of weeks back on the Member's Restorations forum and didn't get any takers, so I thought that I would re-post it here . . . . .

Body panel question for you guys. I see that there is a set of splash shields shown for the 70-72 Darts that go somewhere under the fenders.

My car had 72 model year fenders on it when I got it and it did not have these splash shields. It had the plastic shields that fit between the cowl and the inside of the fender, but that is all that was there. Is my car supposed to have these? Where are they installed? Can someone provide a pic of how they're installed, if I should have them? Thanks.

I've got steel ones on my 68 Ragtop with those seals but used plastic ones on my Hardtop. I can't recall if plastic ones had any but definitely not those.

And just to be clear, despite what the ad says those are not shields, they are the seals that attach to the steel type of shield.

Outstanding! This is exactly what I was looking for Kendog. Thanks to all who responded, I appreciate the help!

Yep, Kendog nailed it. Here is a pic of mine for my 67. Just put the seals on my 67 Dart shields this past weekend.

While digging through my shed for other parts, I ran across the splash shields and the plot thickens. I have one metal shield (driver side) and one plastic shield (pass side). :BangHead: So I guess I'm now looking for either one or the other to have a matched pair. Anyone have an idea what the correct one should be? This is a January build 71 Dart Swinger.

Also as an FYI, a repo set of the shield- to-car fasteners is also available. 4 of the screws with washers for the big round holes and two bolts for the upper and mid attachment points. Description says for plastic shields but those are exactly what my metal ones use as well.

Thanks for the link! I have some of the originals, but not all of them. I'll have to put this on my wish list!

These I do have. a follow-up to yesterday's thread, I looked in the Faxon manuals that I have and they do not show a splash shield for the starter in the 71-72 Darts. So at least I don't need to be worried about finding that too! Thanks!

I had one on my 72 Dart. Well, I had the holes in the frame rail where it was originally installed. I was missing when I got it but I or one back on
