Question about the price of 340s

buy new pistons....KB 243 ...raises the compression and a lot lighter.....have your heads update new 2.02 valves...get the bowls work on...

update the camshaft to something like a XE268 from compcams......and while you are at it...add eddy performer rpm intake or air gap intake...update the advance curve in the distributor...

I am sure many more will respond with their suggestions...LOL
 
Yeah Im pretty sure it wouldnt be that hard as long as you dont need machine work you could take a low compression 340 and swap out some parts and have an early 340. I am thinking just swapping the heads to the 2.02 from the 1.88's would be an improvement, of course compression and cams come into play though.

Sounds like the 340 that is in my duster now.
Proven combo for the low compression 340.
