necropost. I had some Hooker Supercomp early A (5208?) and the blew 340 header gaskets all the time. Finally investigated the problem and found the ports were more 318 sized than 340 and they were blowing out the bottom where the 340 exhaust port (they go lower) was barely (not) touching the "O-ring" flange on those headers. Ill call them 318 sized port headers, buyer beware. You can minimize this by test fitting and possible redrilling the holes a tad higher so the header sit lower on the head.
