What is the internal / external adjustable bypass used for in a electric fuel pump system Like the Quick Fuel 175 ..

Sounds like a pressure-relief valve (PRV). It vents fuel from the outlet back to the inlet to maintain outlet pressure. If most fuel spends time circulating in that small loop, it can get hot, so better to vent it back to the tank, which is what the external bypass allows (with your own PRV).
