So, I have A-Body width axles, but, how can I measure if they have the correct A-body backspacing or how can I know? I thought the axles would be fine that I have, but, I question them cuz I read that some A body axles may not be the correct backspacing? I don't even know much about backspacing except that it has to do with your rim/tire. Please help me clarify this, maybe even some dimensions if possible, thanks

Backspacing has nothing to do with the axels. It is the rim that is offset one way or the other to center the tire in the wheel whale.

BurntOrange is right. Backspacing concerns the wheels. Where the axles come into play in the discussion is the track width. The 7.25 and 8.75 axles have different track widths which in turn affects the backspacing that will work in the fenders. Since most of us are trying to stuff as much tire as the wheel wells will hold, the issue of backspacing on the wheel is very important.

Ok, good, thanks for clarifying that for me guys! Now if I can just get the parts to put on my 8 3/4, front disk, etc...

Hyper72valiant, are you perhaps talking about flange offset?
4" BP (A Body 8 3/4) has a different flange offset than other Dodge rearends. BBP 8 3/4 is 2.36 offset. I think SBP is 2.0 inch offset.
Just a thought.

That's probably what I was reading about, I have 4.5" BP axles so that would mean I have 2.36" offset. It just confused me a little I guess, haha, but, now is cleared up cuz of you guys, thx!
