1 - I thought I read on here that some of the Edelbrock heads are open chambered is that correct? Part Number:

2 - Is there a closed chamber one that they offer instead? Part number:

3 - 340 Performer heads? - ? Same as the performers but with the chamber widened to 4.040"??? Part number:

4 - I thought that I read that you guys said that the "P5153849 Mopar Performance Aluminum head" is a re-badged Edelbrock Head- correct?

5 - Is there a recommended preference between the types (& why please)

6/last - Are the Indybrock's just cnc ported edebrock heads?

thanks a bunch!

IIRC

60179 is the open chamber
60779 is closed chambered.

Buy the closed chambered ones, even if the piston is out of the deck and run an appropriate gasket to your quench distance.

One or a few of the mopar heads are rebadged ede's

1. yes there is a open chamber head for the 68-71 340 since those engines had a positive deck height piston.,,

2.yes..there is a close chamber head too.

3,

4.that is a eddy head with mopar part number...http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DCC-5153849/
summit say it is out of stock and referrs you to a eddy part number...

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-60179/

which is the 340 open chamber head...that you asked about in question 1

5...i would use the close chamber head and use thicker head gasket as needed.

6. indyblocks have the pushrod moved aka a TA head to allow for more porting.....
