Looking for a quicker ratio steering box for my 64 barracuda. Flaming river says theirs fits 66-82, while the N/A 16:1 box from Firm feel says 62-76. What will work in my 64?

I used a new Firm Feel box in my 65 Cuda and i love the feel and quicker turning. a bit harder to turn at slower speeds and parking... but it keeps my wife from driving it!

If it will work in a 66 it will work in a 64. I got a 70's manual box, PS take off, and it worked like a champ in my 64 Barracuda.

If you want to use your existing steering linkage, a box from a '62-72 interchanges. The mounting hole (and bolts) are larger in the '67-72 but they'll work ok. I think the factory only put quick ratio (16:1) ones in the '65-9 models but gears were available to convert them so look in all parts cars to see what they have. They also made a replacement 20:1 worm gear for them too. The 24:1 boxes are almost 6 turns lock to lock....the 16:1 is around 4. That's the easiest way to tell.
