any of you guys use the home and business from quicken book????? how do you like it????? I have to do something better then I am doing now for my small business I hate having to write everything down , all the files, box just a lot of trouble.. I was told the quickens book would take a lot of the hassel out of it and be able to use my puter for most of it with less paper work and all the files and box...

I use quicken home version for tracking checking and spending. Also use the investment tracking. All of that works very good. But I don't use Q to print checks. At one construction project we used Quickbooks and that worked well.

Yea, I think you mean Quickbooks by Intuit.
(Expensive little peice usually) A little over $200 for Pro 2013

Intuit makes Quickbooks and Quicken.

Quickbooks is geared for business, and Quicken is more for home finance.

Don't use Quickbooks but use Quicken for both personal and business. I can't imagine trying to maintain records without it or by hand.

thanks guys what version you guys use??? I am looking at either the home and business or the simple start I think its called.. I really need something for my small business to help keep track of records and where my money is at, also looking to make tax time a little easier to get things together..

I have used a Quicken basic version for more than 20 years. You can post from your checkbook registry and create different catagories and mark them as tax related or not. Then at tax time your can print out a tax summary and everythiong is broken down into how much you spent on truck expense, fuel, insurance, legal fees or whatever. My accountant has me set up into his computer and each year he can take the info I give him and usually tell me in 30 min how things look as to how much I have to pay but then he will have to keep it a couple of weeks to "go over everything" before I get it back so it won't look so bad when he charges me $500.00. I don't know the extent of the business usage that you need, but I would say for a small (1-2) or smaller employee business that the home and business version would be good.
I have customers that use it and they all like it.
The one biggest complaint I hear is the year to year changes in the software.
For example in 2013 the way it handles printing checks is different from the 2012 version.
One other thing you may want to know is that you pretty much have to buy the new program every year because the accountants do and the versions have to match for them to use your company file for taxes.

I used to use Quicken, a number of years ago. It's OK. I now use Quick Books Pro. It's excellent.

thanks guys going to buy the home and business tom...I am a 1 man show right now but plan to add a truck this year....:D:D:D
