Need help with a intake for a r1 9.200 deck and w5 heads. Something with a thick enough flange or custom intake. Looking for a single four 4150 flange. Thanks.
What about a reg W5 intake?
What makes the W5 LP a dud?
As you said, there a dinosaur now. And that’s OK by me. All in all, there cost wasn’t a killer. I have more dollars in my Edelbrock heads.
Moving on......
The “Regular” or LP W5 is thin flanged. What about a reg W5 intake?

Years ago a buddy of mine ran a W5 deal with a modified w2 intake, he said the w5 intakes didn't work well.
Must have done a **** ton of welding.
I can't say how good or bad the single 4 intakes are. I never used one. I only used the tunnel ram. There were some things about it I didn't care for...but if you have a welder...

B3422w5 and I seemed to have had similar W5 experiences.... they are ALL SUSPECT! Personally I wouldn’t deal with Ryan J again. Was really disappointed in the way he handled our leaking short turn on #3 intake. Never once pointed fingers, but in looking to him for answers, suddenly I could never get ahold of him. Btw we sold our remaining top end (we had two sets) and I had the leaker sitting on my bench for years as I couldn’t find anyone to repair it. Gave it to a guy in Florida and he’s been chipping away at it.
They( Mopar) over the years made about 1400 sets of W5 heads. The majority of them ended up in the garbage can.... unusuable. Many others had issues but were workable and Mopar sold those. They lost a TON on the W5 endeavor
They didnt get really popular till after they stopped making them. Buddy of mine has a set he bought on here that will get making noise here in a couple weeks. Nicest castings i have ever seen, the intake he bought along with them though was literally unusable it was core shifted so terribly.
Has T&D 1.65 rockers for them and an Indy intake. Just an 11 to 1 flat tappet shortblock stroker
Smaller, less potential head for sure, but i cant wait to get my hands on the new trick flows. Know the castings will be sweet. Dont want to deal with all the license stuff again. Those trick flows should be decent enough to go lower 10’s with leaning on anything too much. Thats probably enough at my age now to be fast enough
Whoever did the castings for the W5 program truly screwed Chrysler in the keister. That is the first & biggest problem.
