Crap casting technique!
Whoever did the castings for the W5 program truly screwed Chrysler in the keister. That is the first & biggest problem.
Zeus! Yikes. Normally a good reputation by them. I Wonder why they produced crap?
That was the real killer for that head. (& the Stage VI.) Once that reputation was earned, it was impossible to shake. I think it would have helped if it had been PROPERLY ADDRESSED.
The reality of the head wasn’t a good one. For those that head good heads that took all the porting work without the issues found a excellent street replacement style head an excellent one.
*I think* the Brodix B1-BA-MC would be the head to swap to and close enough to call even ground vs the W5. It does require some unusual work.
Also looking for set of shafts and hold downs for the heads.Need help with a intake for a r1 9.200 deck and w5 heads. Something with a thick enough flange or custom intake. Looking for a single four 4150 flange. Thanks.
I won’t argue that. But what else is on the table?
Westley, the rockers come with shafts from Harland Sharp, TD, etc...Also looking for set of shafts and hold downs for the heads.

Got that set for $850If you bought the Jesel sportsmen rocker gear for those W5 heads your going to be a happy camper.
Ran them for years 7500 every lap, roller cam, and new owner is still running them today( bigger more agressive roller) years later. Bulletproof
You will have to have machined off about .250 if i remember right. But once right, the geometry is ultra close to perfect.
I fortunately had a buddy with a spare junk head, to close in on how much to mill. Was done at Best Machine.Think i was close to the first person to run them on W5 heads, if not the first. They were 799 a set back then... lol
Got that set for $850

Instructions are still their on their web page. The Jesel sportsman rocker gear for W5 arent shaft mount, they bolt to the head. Stands get milled down.
Good explanation( instructions) if you go to Jesel site for W2/ W5 rocker gear. Or at least there used to be
