Does anyone know what speaker the R11 optional Music Master AM radio came with? My '71 Demon has one 4x10 speaker in the dashboard, but it's a 2496874 "deluxe" speaker. I would think that the base AM radio would have had a lower quality speaker. I'm asking because the radio is long gone but the original speaker is there, and I'm trying to figure out if it had the base AM radio or a better optional radio...

I'm pretty sure DELUXE is the manufacturer

I have the same speaker but correct date in my 67 dart am radio.

I also have several of the same I have bought over the years with the same markings.

Yours has great markings!

If R11 is "Music Master AM radio" it's the base radio, best guess is the next upgrade would be AM/FM.

This speaker photo I pulled off of fleabay. Here is a picture on my speaker. But in the end, I did search more and found other base radios with the same deluxe speaker. So I can say with a certain degree of certainty that for 1971 the base Music Master radio came with the speaker shown above.

how rare are am/fm in 69
my 69 dart had one would like to find one for my new 69
seems like there are big $$$$
and i thought it was stereo

I don't know about 1969, but in 1971 86.9% of LL29 Demons had AM radios, and 0.3% had AM with stereo tape cassette. There's no breakdown for AM/FM radios, but I'd bet it's not many (maybe 10%, since some had no radio). .

I'm having a speaker reconed and I pulled out all my cores.
how is this for veriety

#1, #2 and #5 have the same text
#3, #4 and #6 have the same text
#1 and #2 have the same frame
#3, #4 and#5have the same frame
#6 has a unique frame
#1, #2 and #5 have the same terminal backer
#4, and #6 have the same terminal backer
#3 has a unique terminal backer
#3, #4 and #6 The text looks like the text in the OPs photo in post 1, just really hard to read in the photos

Not much left of the fronts but all the intact Voice Coils are all 8 ohm

Lastly

#1, #2 and #5 have MAYBE a date code on them

Day 807 is Sunday, October 13, 1963
Day 825 is Thursday, October 31, 1963
Day 738 is Monday, August 5, 1963

all of these speakers were said to be from 67 - 70? A bodies so it doesn't seem likely that the 3 digits are a date codes

I had one done locally for about 75.00 but it turned out like ****.

This place wants 135.00 but I have seen several videos of their work and it looks steler

I have several cores. So I'm going to let them do one and if it turns out well I'll buy a diy kit from them and give it a try.

Didn't even know that was a thing
You have enough to try.....

So I guess the takeaway is that there were multiple different types of speakers that were used for the dashboard speaker. Maybe some of them are for higher level radios and not just the Music Master AM radio, but who knows...

They all have the same part number.

Most likely either changes year over year by the manufacturer or there was more than one manufacturer producing functionally the same part.
