hi all i am new here. What i am looking to do is mate an r154 supra trans to a newer 5.7L Hemi. I have been doing a lot of research lately but cannot come up with a complete list of parts i need. Hope i can get some help!

What Bellhousing?
What Flywheel?
Clutch disc?
Hydraulics? TOB?
Pressure Plate?
Pilot Bushing?
What Starter?

What else do i need? Thanks

Hope you guys can answer my questions and help me do this swap!

read this. It is my very old r154 thread where I put it behind my 340. In the end I swapped the 340 with a 6.1.
technically it is similar. only difference is the HEMI flywheel. But I welded all holes and redrilled them to the HEMI bolt circle.

Do you already have the tranny? You need a lot of Dakota stuff.

HEMI swap is a different story. You will find all in the HEMI swap section here.

What Bellhousing? 1996 Dakota V6
What Flywheel? 1996 Dakota V6 ( I used for HEMI but had to redrill the bolt circle)
Clutch disc? Advanced adpters sells them
Hydraulics? TOB? 1996 Dakota i used first but changed now. See my thread in the HEMI section
Pressure Plate? Centerforce dual friction
Pilot Bushing? Adapter pilot BEARING goes in the seat for the converter ( OEM Mopar )
What Starter? stock 5.7 Truck

What else do i need? TTI header, Motor mounts, driveshaft (Toyota to Mopar)

......

Do you have any part numbers for the clutch disc aand pressure plate?

Care to expand on the pilot bushing please? I dont understand?

correct me if i am wrong but the new slave is a jeep Grand cherokee (zj)? and the master is wilwood 5/8"?

thanks so much

stock 5.7L starter? Is that chrysler? Do you mean 5.9L (360ci)?

I believe he is speaking of the stock starter from a newer 5.7L Hemi engine?

So i found you are using a clutch disc for a toyota picckup truck application.

Just cant find anything on pressur plate or this pilot bearing? Is that all thats needed? I should be picking up an r154 this weekend if all goes as planned

yoou need the slip yoke from that tranny.

yes, 5,7L Truck Hemi starter. If you stay with your K-Member and use TTI header. Remote oil filter is needed as well.
Go through the Moparts link I sent. all mentioned there
From the Dakota 5 speed tranny you need the cover with has the tube where the release bearing is sliding on. guess it calls bearing retainer.
yes, the input shaft is too short. you have to fabricate an adapter. Easy for a maschine shop.
clutch plate is p/n 716105 (Advance Adapters

Is the pressure plate from the dodge dakota v6?

Do u have a picture or diagram of the input shaft adapter? Some dimensions? what did you use to make it?That's the only thing I'm stuck on I believe

Thanks for the pics. What do up make the bushing from what kin of material? Also do u have the length on hand. I am not very good with measurements and don't want to guess. Since your setup is proven to work I figure I can do this right the first time lol

Hope you can help thanks

you mean the adapter on the input shaft? Made of regular stehl in a machine shop.

Length over all is 30cm
diameter outside 19mm
hole for the shaft:
depth 22mm
diameter 11,9mm

the shaft is 12mm. I shrinkt the adapter on the shaft

Wow thank you so much so just regular steel. I can make that in machine shop. Do you remember what angle of taper was on the end? So the actual I.D is smaller than the shaft? Did you just heat it to get it on there?

Buschi according to you measurements if you subtract the total length from the depth of the inner bore (hole for input shaft) you get 8mm. converted to SAE .314 inch. I thought the input shaft was .500 inch shorter? Plus you have chamfered the end pretty good on the adapter, so how much material is contacting the pilot bearing?

I am curious about this also. Now i am not sure what size to make this adapter. Ideally, how much longer would the r154 shaft need to be to be perfect?
