Rallyes Mirrors: drivers side is alway remote, and passenger side is always manual with A/E/pre-75ish? B-bodies.

www.pgclassics.com and www.beaparts.com carry the same mirrors. About 4$370 a pair at PG. New mirrors no scratches or fading and not floppy mechanism. Used prices should of course be lower.

Dave, If the mirrors you're wanting are for that gorgeous Duster you just bought....might want to keep that baby as original as you can. What are the mirror codes on the fender tag or build sheet?

Looks like it might have the G33 option chrome mirror from your gallery pix?

The repro mirror are real attractive if you need chrome ones. The total cost of rechroming a set of used ones with installing new mirrors, and taking apart and reassembling the remote cable (very tricky) is the same or more than buying repros. Not counting the used price core costs.

If you want a excellent rechrome and restoration a ralley mirrors go to http://www.julesdaddio.com/

You know I think I had a brief brain malfunction.....I love the look of the rally mirrors though....I should leave it be huh? Yeah its coded for that mirror and its the original one...D

Like I said before, if that were my car I wouldn't change a thing being it is a "survivor", that thing is sweet. Yes, those rallye mirrors look awesome, but then you need drill holes in the passenger side door, ouch!

you could always keep the original mrror for it. add the rallyes on. it won't take away from the car at all. i think a car like it should have had them to start with. if someone some day dosen't like the rallyes they can seal the passenger side hole and re-install the factory mirror. plain and simple. i did this with mine when i got it too.

p.s. you could get a dealer to install them for you and then you could say they were a dealer installed option.

Ryan my man, your absolutely right.....its one mirror & one mirror only! Whew! That was a close one guys! Thanks for gettin me back on track! D:dontknow:

unless you are going to put bias ply tires back on it , with the old steel 2 1/4 inch exhaust ,thermoquad, original battery, hoses ect..... then it can never be truly "as it was" if it was truly 100% original then it would be a museum piece and you would be doing harm driving it. adding a factory part that was available at the time of purchace in 72 is one thing but changing a part to something that was never available changes it to a resto mod. but this is just my opinion. it is a very nice car and you should do as you wish. anyway if you are refering to this info here is the link.......http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/dealerships/1972PlymouthDealershipDataBook-06.shtml

It wont take away from the car if you add the rallyes?? What in the world would he do with the drilled holes if he wanted to sell it and still claim its a survivor? Just my 2 cents, I do like the rallyes but I think your right on keeping it original. Greg

That looks like a manual drivers side only mirror.

So if you added a remote mirror you have to drill a hole in the upper door frame for the remote.

I have remote mirrors in both my A-bodies. I set them and leave them. Every once in a while I'll reset it. Mostly after I wash the car. For the effort of reaching to the remote on the upper door you can just lower your window and adjust a manual mirror. I don't think you are driving this car daily, so that is not much of a inconvienence.

My Barracuda has a right side NON ralley mirror. Can't see a darn thing out of it. Most of those factory right side mirror aren't very usefull.

So it's just a looks thing to me. They do look cool. But not that big of an impact.

IMHO, spend the money for the mirrors on a repro battery. I think it would have a bigger visual impact. Under the hood of course.

Yeah, ive dropped the idea...and a original type battery with the "yellow" caps is on the short list. Anyone have any experience with these repro batteries? Do they last? I think the last one I priced was over $240.00 shipped, i dunno? D

Paid 250 from Castle, starts good, looks nice.Maybe to nice compared to the rest?

Too bad you dropped the idea, I have a set of painted ones for sale. They are both in grey primer(driver side was yellow) the drivers side could use a new piece of glass(old one is foggy).I was going to use them but opted for chrome reproduction ones, which I bought new. They just need painted to match and I would recommend new glass on both to make perfect. They could've been yours for $185.00 shipped to you or whomever might want them. Change your mind?:-D if no takers, they're going on ebay Sunday.

only time I use pass. mirror is backing in my garage. Works good for that. I mainly have them because I like the way they look.

I have a set of the painted style (drivers needs new glass) $185 shipped. PM me if interested. They go on ebay soon.
