Have you thought about bypassing the amp gauge?

There is a lot of us in which we have already done the mod. It measures volts rather than amps and removes a fire hazard from under the dash.

Thanks for your suggestion, it was working fine but the needle came off so I would prefer to replace it and keep the car as original as possinble

I have several here, some cleaner and newer looking than others. I can give you one but I wont accept responcibility for any of them. To send one to Autoinstruments.com and let them convert it into a volt gauge is the very best plan. Safer operation while maintaining stock appearance.
