I'm going to install a rallye mirror on my 71 duster. I currently have the stock mirror on it. My concern is the new mirror has a remote. When I pull the door panel off is there a hole in the door frame for the remote? (I suspect there is)

I know either way I'll have to drill a hole for the remote on the door panel side. Is it up high on the metal door edge or down lower on the door panel.

Can someone post a picture of the proper place for the remote?

OR the measurements?

Well my friend, if you have the factory doors, and they were not for remote mirror, you will have to drill a hole, or find doors that did, as the remote handle sits in the upper portion of the door (steel in 1971).

Here's a pic of mine ('71 Duster). http://s203.photobucket.com/albums/aa59/340butterduster/Remote mirror/

Hope this helps, I can give you dimensions, if you require them.

All the best, and Mahalo to you!

Mahalo!

That is the area I thought it goes. Your picture is good enough. I'll know tonight if I need to drill holes in the door. The upper portion I need to for sure.
