I found a 97 ram 1500 2wd, standard cab, short bed, 5.9L V-8, PW, PDL, CC, CD player that needs a motor, so how big of a pain in the *** would it be to drop a carb fed non magnum 360 in that truck and keep the stock exhaust and auto tranny?
Iv never played with anything that new so Im looking into all this before I go for it and get the truck.

You will have to see how the gauges hook up. MIght have to fab your own instrument panel. I do believe, however, that the 97 rams still used the old traditional setup. 98 and newer sensor feeds go through the pcm first before getting to the instrument panel. They will be electronic gauges as opposed to mechanical so you will have to adapt to that.
