Bolt on hardtail. Did that to my 2nd Sportster in the 70's. Raised up the fuel tank like that and had to relocate the petcock so I could use more than 1 gallon. lol
 
Yes Sir - those odd British folks had to be different or wait were we ???
Positive ground? My 66 650 BSA had twin Amals and the rear sprocket was held on with about 10 bolts that worked their way loose and informed me when they repeatedly banged against the swingarm. Rode that all over NJ back roads as an unlicensed 15 year old. Great memories.
