I wonder what that photo was all about?
Must have been the Viet Nam war days.

That Phantom pilot must have lotsa flying hours piloting that plane.
Looking at the picture, it only has the centerline tank, on it, and no bombs, armament under the wings, on the pylons.
To be behind that cargo plane he really had to slow that Phantom down, on air speed.
I noticed that the flaps are down too, to slow it down.
If i remember, the flaps are used under 250 air speed, so it had to be flying that, or somewhat slower.
Sure would like to know more what was going on in that photo.
That's now gotta be one of my favorite F-4 pictures.

Lifted this off Facebook. Pretty sure it's an NC Archives photo.

Battleship USS North Carolina being moved into it's berth as a museum ship at Wilmington, NC. October 1961. The North Carolina is about to go into it's final battle action shortly after this photo was taken. In the foreground is Fergus' Ark, a floating restaurant. The tugboats had a tight squeeze maneuvering the battlewagon and the stern collided with the Ark. The river boat remained afloat receiving minor damage.

318 from the UK.

Has a thermoquad 4 bbl, and a 727 box as they say in the UK.

Looks like it came out of a truck with the exhaust manifolds and single exhaust. (has been sold)

Believe this photo was from an ad in 2010. Fun to see.

Nice engine hoist rope sling...
