Good day guys, I have a 71 Swinger and I’m hearing a pump/rattle sound on my passenger side under the car. It sounds like it’s coming from under the passenger floor pan. I’ve checked my pump stops and they are all intact. Any help or has anyone had this problem and figured it out? I’ve attached a picture of my car

It only happens when I hit a bump or pot hole in the road.

Check you strut rod and lower control arm bushings. What type of strut rod bushings do you have installed. One piece? Two piece? Poly or rubber.

Also it could be the exhaust hitting the floor or torsion bar if the motor mount or trans mount is bad.

Have you tried putting the car on a lift and actually looking and giving things a good shake? Or have you looked under the passenger seat ?

Good news. Turns out it was just a marble in the ashtray.

If you have a sway bar sometimes the links on the ends can rattle, same thing with worn out shocks.

Really needs to go on a lift and look and see what it can be.

A simple thought I had as soon as I read this post was your emergency brake cable bouncing, long cable that may sound like it's under passenger side because it's in the middle sorta

Thanks for the laugh! Needed that tonight.

Do you have the kind of friends who would put a ziptie on the driveshaft?

Shock absorber mountings. Check that the bolts are tight. Check that the rubber is compressed, not compacted & loose.
