I have not built that kit. But what I see by looking at the site... You will want to specify the 6 bolt crank to avoid paying "hemi markup" on flywheel, or flexplate, or bolt kits. The pistons are WAAAY short for a street application. Meaning the piston will rock a lot at TDC (cannot set quench really tight) and they will need the oil ring supports that again, are not street friendly over time. You will want to be careful with compression. That stroke will drive the dynamic compression way up fast, so the camshaft needs to be very, very large for pump fuel. Your oil system definately needs to be complete external pickup (aka Milodon) because the internal pickup boss needs to be ground down and the passage plugged. It really should have a girdle system in place, and I'd use aluminum caps with it. No iron head, and no stock wedge port size head can feed it very well. So expect to go something like an Indy -1EZ with some port work.

On the kit itself.. the rods will need the pin bores honed to size, and once you use the right lube and cycle the big ends, they will need to be re-sized too. So factor in the costs. ($150 extra for the shop i use...) The crank is a mystery. If it's finished by the same people/equipment, the journals will have a lot of taper around the oil passages, and this really limits the amount of area the oil wedge has to do it's job. I've had to turn a crank down undersize to get the proper finish before. It's cheaper in CT than returing a crank and gambling the next one is any better. Do not pay them to balance it. Pay your trusted shop.

those would be my concerns.

Thanks for your input. It confirms some of my doubts. I will look around some more, maybe go a little smaller. Thanks again.
