RB Pull timing cover balancer seal?

What is a good makeshift way to pull the timing cover harmonic balancer seal on a 440?

I was looking at the seal and it does not appear to have a lip which any round lip which a round washer or item could catch on to extract it.

Have you ever seen those pointy ice axe looking seal extractors?

I'll see if I can find a picture.

Here it is.
They work by biting into the seal rubber, or getting behind the seal shell.

Sometimes you can poke a couple of sheet metal screws through the rim, and yank them with a claw hammer

Been awhile since I've played with B / RB, so don't remember
 
What does the screw driver catch on? Do you just catch the rubber of the seal and work around - knock out the back?

Same idea as the tool I posted, just that the screwdriver isn't as sharp edged.
 
...and doesn't have a hooked end to grab the seal. I've always used a screw driver and pliers, but that's certainly not the right tool for the job.
